नारायणीयम् — Privacy

Last updated 27 October 2026

नारायणीयम् is a free site for reading, hearing and learning Śrīman Nārāyaṇīyam by heart. It is run by an individual, not a company, and it is not funded by advertising.

You can use it without an account

If you continue as a guest, nothing about you is sent to the server or stored on it. Your progress is kept only in your own browser, in localStorage, and clearing your browser data removes it.

The one exception, for every visitor: once a day the page sends the server a random number it made up for your browser, so that the number of visitors can be counted. It is stored only as a one-way hash, carries no IP address, no cookie and nothing about you, and is not linked to an account.

What is stored if you sign in

Signing in uses Google. Google tells us three things about you, and we store them:

Alongside that we store what the site itself produces:

That is the whole list. We never receive your Google password, and we ask Google for no access to your Gmail, Drive, contacts, or anything else — only openid, email and profile.

Who else sees it

Nobody. Your data is not sold, shared, or given to advertisers, and there is no analytics or tracking code on this site.

Two services necessarily see something in the course of serving you:

Cookies

Two, both strictly necessary and neither used for tracking: one holds your session after you sign in, and one exists for a few minutes during sign-in to protect the exchange against forgery. Guests get neither.

Removing your data

To delete your progress, or your account and everything attached to it, write to the address below and it will be removed.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
